Leaderboards Are Live - Here's How They Work

Weekly XP resets, seasonal rankings, and badge milestones. We designed the leaderboard to motivate without discouraging beginners.

Leaderboards are a double-edged sword. Done wrong, they demotivate everyone who isn't in the top 10 and create a toxic culture of grinding for rank rather than learning.

We thought hard about this before shipping ours.

Weekly Resets

The global leaderboard resets every Monday. This means a learner who just signed up has a real shot at climbing the ranks in their first week - not just the people who've been here since day one.

It also creates a natural cadence. A week is long enough to make meaningful progress, short enough to keep the competition feeling fresh.

Seasonal Rankings

Every 90 days, we lock in seasonal rankings. Your position at the end of the season gets immortalised in your profile - a permanent record of where you stood in that cohort.

This gives long-term players something to aim for beyond a weekly sprint.

Scope Filters

Not everyone wants to compete globally. The leaderboard has three scopes: Global, Friends, and Skill-specific. The skill-specific view is our favourite - it shows your ranking among everyone working on the same skill tree node. You're competing against people at your exact level.

Badges Over Pure Rank

We deliberately surface badges alongside raw XP scores. Hitting rank #1 matters, but so does earning the "30-Day Streak" badge or the "Quest Completionist" achievement. This distributes recognition across more types of effort - not just who grinds the most hours.

The leaderboard is live in the Dashboard. Check where you stand.
